We provide a diagnostic assessment and a treatment pathway which includes initiation and monitoring of medication. We also provide supported living for patients who require the service because they need additional mental health support to achieve their optimum potential.
Our service is led and run by clinicians including doctors, GPs, psychiatrists and social workers.
Clients remain within the service from assessment to treatment, support and care, providing a seamless holistic approach.

Following your assessment, you will receive a comprehensive and detailed report detailing the findings in understandable language. This report will clearly outline whether ADHD or Autism was diagnosed and will provide some recommendations that will be peculiar to your particular case.

Treatment Options
If your assessment confirms that you have ADHD or Autism, our team will guide you through the next steps, providing clear and supportive options that will help manage your symptoms. This may sometimes include therapeutic approaches, medication, or a combination of both.
If medication is recommended and you do choose to proceed, a specialist prescriber will assess your suitability, carry out some necessary routine health checks, and, if appropriate, start a treatment plan. We will arrange regular follow-ups to monitor how well the medication is working and monitor any side effects that you may experience,which are usually rare.
Once you and your clinician are confident that the treatment is effective and a stable dose has been reached, ongoing management of your prescriptions and routine monitoring may be transferred to your local healthcare provider which is most cases will be your General Practitioner (GP). Step Healthcare will be with you every step of the way to ensure that you experience a very smooth and supportive transition.
We do follow the science, and in its simplest form, the most effective for most patients is medicine. This is usually safe, works, and is very effective. We do offer a conversation about medicine if you are diagnosed with ADHD or Autism by us. Once we feel that your stable on your treatment to a point where both you and our team are satisfied, we will usually point you to other forms of support outside our services if we feel that this will enhance your wellbeing.
There are various groups of medicine, that all work differently for ADHD or Autism and they all have their different strengths and weaknesses. Our team will work with you to find the right medicine for you as quickly as possible. If the suggested medicine for your does not work, we will work hard to find the one that does, and then adjust the dose to find the optimal level that is suitable for you.
Even though that this may sound like trial and error, however there is absolutely no way to know what will work best for you until we try, but we will always listen, gather the facts from you and work to get there as soon as we can.
